The SquirrelOne answer to enterprise
management, Corporate POS Manager, works with enhancements to the standalone Squirrel
program dedicated to assisting any customer with more than one restaurant. From
the ability to manage many different menus, to sending your sales data, to a central
location and consolidating it for reporting, Corporate POS Manager gives you the
ability to accomplish it easily.
Bundled into Corporate POS manager are three programs to assist with managing and
reporting on multiple databases.
Menu Management
The Menu Management component allows the IT department of a large chain,
or the remote owner of a small chain, the ability to manage either all or some aspects
of the store configuration. Whether the choice is to manage a core section of the
menu, or completely control the entire configuration of all restaurants, Corporate
POS manager has the flexibility to allow both. POS configuration allows a user to
define prices, point of sale screens layouts, menu entry attributes and individual
flag settings.
Within the Menu Management component, a user at the corporate level is able to:
- Arrange the restaurants into 'logical' groups, called for easier downloading of
data.
- Allow corporate to define all or part of the workspace on the menu screens.
- Provide visual feedback to the stores, the menu areas that are defined as corporate
workspace versus areas defined as store areas.
- Configuration screens show flag settings with color selection as to who is able
to change the flag. Flags that cannot be changed at all are grayed for easy visual
indication.
- Enable a new database to be invoked either automatically or manually.
Consolidated Corporate Reporting
Corporate reporting allows an operation with multiple outlets to get immediate
feedback about how their operations are performing. Using Corporate POS Manager,
sales are sent to a central location at a predetermined time in preparation for
being consolidated with other stores' data. Within a short time after the close
of day at the restaurants, corporate could have all sales information. Reports can
be generated for a specific group of stores as well as a specific date range and
exported via Crystal reports.
Event Manager
The Squirrel Event Manager, a scheduling program, is conveniently included
with Corporate POS Manager. It is used primarily to manage the movement of new menu
data from corporate to the stores and daily sales information from the stores to
corporate. Event Manager is also useful for managing when a new configuration is
activated once it is at a store. As Event Manager is a scripting tool, it may also
be used for scheduling any other event regardless of the program.
By utilizing the many benefits of Corporate POS Manager, multi unit customers will
see benefits in:
- Consistency in screen layout - ensuring that the screens are organized the same,
training routines and exercises can be developed for 'cookie-cutter' training classes
for new servers.
- Lower learning curve for employees who transfer from one restaurant to another.
- Centralizing configuration knowledge - no need to train restaurant-level staff
on the details of database maintenance. Corporate can employ the necessary personnel
to manage the restaurants data leaving restaurant staff to keep their focus on running
a restaurant.
- Ability to download menu edits to multiple restaurants at a scheduled time.
- Consolidated reporting - after sending unit level sales information to corporate,
consolidated reports can be generated.
Enable unattended data movement and implementation of routines - using the Squirrel
Event Manager, some of the day-today routines can be scheduled to occur unattended
and at convenient times for the restaurants.
